New Lulu Cast!

Marcy Rylan has been cast in the role of Lulu Spencer after Julie Marie Berman vacated the role. For those of you who follow daytime drama, Marcy was most recently seen as Abby Newman on the Young & the Restless.

Ugh! As a viewer of Y&R, I have a hard time picturing this actress portraying Lulu. Marcy's Abby is spoiled, self-confident and self-absorbed. I don't know if Marcy has it in her to play Lulu. I wonder what direction the character will be taken in?

Eventually Lulu is going to figure out that Maxie is holding onto one huge secret. The chemistry between Dante and Lulu has been electric, will that same chemistry exist with a new actress?

Well time will tell.

With Laura back in the picture and Nicolas returning towards the end of the month and the pregnancy story, Lulu will be a big part of the action.

This Week on GH

As General Hospital prepares to celebrate 50 years, this past week was less than exciting in this fan's opinion.

The return of Kate was short-lived as Sonny soon discovered. The book launch for "Love in Maine" the manuscript Connie stole from Molly prompted Connie to admit the truth in front of all that she stole the book.

She pressured Sonny into telling the truth about who he really loves. Sonny admitted that he could not choose between Kate and Connie and loves them both.

Molly enjoyed her moment as a published author but worried about Rafe.

Sam discovered that Rafe left the group home and she and Molly found him at John's.

Todd was released from prison and headed straight to Carly who in a desperate attempt to avoid Todd, grabbed AJ and faked a passionate kiss.

Elizabeth witnessed this as she was arriving for a date with AJ. Elizabeth returned to the hospital, angry with herself that she had given AJ a chance.

Elizabeth, Sabrina and Felix discussed their failures at relationships. Felix offered to talk to Patrick for Sabrina but she urged him to leave it be.

Lulu and Dante saw Maxie's sonogram. Maxie felt a connection to the baby which surprised her.

Ellie and Spinelli tried to recover the recipe after Spinelli ate it.

AJ was desperate to save ELQ and entered into a deal with Carly.

Starr lied to Todd for Carly but Todd doesn't believe her.

Starr told Michael the truth about his parents.

Lucy, who reunited with Kevin, threw herself into planning the Nurses' Ball.

The Week in Review

The battle for ELQ continued as Tracy hired Spinelli to steal the formula for Lila's Pickled Relish. Tracy threatened Spinelli with eviction and Spinelli was forced to steal the formula from Ellie.

Elizabeth decided to accept AJ's offer of a dinner date and encourage Sabrina to come clean and tell Patrick how she really feels about him.

Kate's return was brief and as Connie emerged she vowed revenge against Sonny.

Frisco continued his quest to win back Felicia. Mac told Kevin that although he loves Felicia, she has to make the choice to be with him.

Lucy was reunited with Kevin.

Starr and Michael were stunned when Todd was cleared of all charges.

Duke and Anna rekindle their romance.

Todd went to see Carly and profess his love for her.

Luke told Tracy that Scott is up to something and he worried about Laura.

Sabrina Fights Back

Sabrina and Patrick find out that Epiphany received an anonymous email alerting her to the fact that Sabrina cheated on the exam. Sabrina fights back and gets Epiphany to give her a second chance to prove that she did not cheat.

Patrick believes that Britt was behind the email and tells Epiphany.

A devastated Olivia returns to Steve's apartment and tells Kate there will be no wedding.

Kate and Olivia discuss Trey and Sonny and Olivia tells her that Sonny does love her.

Dante goes to see Steve who tells him that he cannot marry his mother. Dante understands and promises Steve that he will watch out for his mother.

Heather and Todd meet up at the police station and they have a talk. Heather tells him that she is ready to take responsibility for her crimes and will not testify against him. Todd thanks her.

Carly goes to see Sonny and tells him he is selfish for sleeping with Connie. She tries to get him to understand why Kate feels betrayed by him. Sonny gives her grief for getting involved with Johnny and then Todd and Carly fires back.

Wedding Interrupted

Steve and Olivia's hospital wedding is interrupted by Tennessee authorities who want to arrest Steve on murder charges.

Sabrina's name is absent from the nursing test roster and Felix finds out that she has been accused of cheating.

Patrick confronts Britt who says she had nothing to do with Sabrina's test scores.

Sam speaks out about Rafe, John and Lucy and the mayor has no choice but to drop all charges against them.

Anna takes Lucy to view Steven/Clay's body and Lucy wonders what happened to the ring.

Molly rushes to the PCPD to see Rafe who tells her that Steven/Clay was really his father.

Steve delays finishing the wedding and he tells Elizabeth that he has to own up to the charges against him. Olivia is devastated by his choice to go and face a trial.

What Happened This Week on GH

Here is a recap of the week ending March 1st.

Monday:

Steve discussed Olivia's visions with Elizabeth who warned him that they should not be taken literally.

Patrick supported Sabrina as they awaited the news about her future as a nurse.

Olivia and Sonny tried to update Kate on what she missed while Connie was in control. Kate couldn't get past Sonny sleeping with Connie and was horrified that Trey died without her getting to know her son.

John, Rafe and Lucy got closer to finding Sam.

Sam tried to reason with Caleb who attacked her trying to get her to remember being Livvy.

Anna was one step behind the trio looking for Caleb but did find out who Steven Clay/ Caleb is.

Starr went to the site of the accident to remember Cole and Hope. Michael joined her and they remembered how they fell in love. Meanwhile someone watched them from afar.

Tuesday:

Sonny follows Kate to the scene of the accident where they talk about loss.

Steve asks Elizabeth to stand up for him at his wedding and then returns home to find Heather with a knife to Olivia. Steve jumps to save Olivia but gets stabbed in the stomach by Heather. As they await help, Heather sneaks out the door.

AJ goes to see a therapist and then thanks Elizabeth for her support.

John and Lucy search the tunnels at Windemere for Caleb and Sam while Rafe watches over Danny.

Caleb tries to get Sam to remember and while she passes out from the vampire bit he gives her, he dresses her in Livvy's wedding gown.

Steve is rushed to the hospital as a frantic Olivia tells Elizabeth that Heather made her vision come true.

Wednesday:

AJ gives Elizabeth support as they await news on Steve's condition.

Heather is surprised by finding Rafe with Danny at Windemere.

Lucy has a visit from Allison who assures her that she can stop Caleb.

John finds Sam only to be captured by Caleb.

Duke has a plan to save ELQ.

Thursday:

Duke tricks Tracy and walks away with the relish.

Steve makes it through surgery.

Heather turns herself in after her conversation with Rafe.

Michael shares good news with AJ.

Lucy distracts Caleb so that John is able to free himself and save Sam.

Caleb is killed and Lucy is in disbelief.

Lucy cannot come to grips with the idea that Caleb doesn't exist and she has wasted her time believing in vampires.

Friday:

Patrick celebrates with Sabrina who finds out that she is cleared of charges much to the dissatisfaction of Britt.

Frisco pushes to get Felicia back.

Tracy hires Spinelli.

AJ, Michael and Starr ask Ellie for her help.

Felicia confides in Duke.

Maxi coordinates Steve and Olivia's wedding from Steve's hospital bed.

Patrick sees Britt with Frisco and asks her why.

Sabrina comes clean with Steve and Olivia and tells them there never was a crush.

Duke faces Tracy.

Julie Marie Berman Out as Lulu

Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) has opted to not stay in the role she has played since 2005. With the surrogate storyline very much in focus, the role of Lulu will be re-cast.

Gosh! As a fan of GH I hate it when actors leave and the role is re-cast but I guess there is not much a fan can do. It is just surprising to me with the return of Laura Spencer that Julie would choose now to leave her role.

Search for Sam

John, Rafe and Lucy discover the truth about Caleb. Caleb is former rock star Steven Clay who is an escapee from a mental institution whose fixation on his dead wife (a Sam lookalike) caused him to take on the personna of a legendary vampire Caleb Morley.

Although Lucy still believes he is a vampire, they know that Sam is in danger.

Alexis is disappointed in Molly. Molly insists that she did what she did to save Sam and Danny's life.

Sonny and Olivia break the news to Kate about Trey.

Tracy plans to use AJ's panic attacks against him to regain control.

Luke tells Tracy about Laura's return and the Ice Princess.

Lulu is disgusted by her mother's engagement.

Sam and Danny are being held at Windemere.

True Identity

While locked in their cells, John tries to convince Todd and Rafe that he is not the killer the cops are looking for.

Meanwhile Alexis and Shawn discover that Sam and Danny are missing.

Anna runs into Duke on the pier and tells him that she and Luke are over.

Luke is disgusted when Scott tells him that he and Laura are engaged.

Alexis calls Anna and they go to see John.

John's worse fears come true when he finds out that Sam is missing.

Connie awakens as Kate and is horrified that Sonny slept with her. He tries to explain himself but Kate doesn't want to hear it.

Olivia and Steve discuss her visions and then Kate arrives at their door.

Return of the Ice Princess

Lulu and Dante show Luke and Laura the mysterious gift she anonymously received.

Sonny and Connie make love and turn a corner in their relationship.

Maxie confides in Frisco who promises to help her fix things.

Britt shows Patrick and Sabrina the letter she wrote to Dr. Quartermaine, intending to make sure that Sabrina loses her career.

Patrick assures Sabrina that he will not allow her to get fired.

Spinelli and Ellie have a romantic evening.

Olivia and Steve head home to find his door ajar. Olivia worries about her visions.

Frisco and Maxie pay a visit to Britt and Frisco tells her the blackmail is over.

Michael and Starr steal a moment together.

Luke and Laura worry about Lulu.

Scott Baldwin shows up.

Valentine's Day

Maxie accepts Frisco's invitation to go to the party at the Haunted Star unaware that he is only trying to intimidate Mac and Felicia who are also there.

Felix urges Sabrina to go to the party with him even though she cannot shake the guilt she feels over causing the officer's death.

Steve feels sadness over Heather's alleged death and Olivia consoles him. Connie tags along with Steve and Olivia after making a joke over Heather's possible murder.

Sonny tags along with Dante who feels badly that his father is alone.

Michael buys Starr a special present.

Connie tries to get Starr to give her the rights to the boat saying they are hers. Sonny breaks up the argument between them and Michael is disgusted by his father's defending Connie.

Sonny kisses Connie.

Laura surprises Elizabeth and her grandsons but their visit is interrupted by AJ.

Laura receives a phone call from someone who wants to know her every move.

AJ and Elizabeth talk.

Lulu urges Mac to fight for Felicia and he takes her home.

Frisco tells Maxie that she needs to share what is bothering her and he will help.

Lulu receives a strange gift.

Luke tells Tracy that Anna dumped him and then finds himself outside the Haunted Star.

Luke and Laura finally come face to face.

Caleb Goes After Sam

Todd is "caught" with baby Danny by Anna and Sam but explains that he was actually saving the baby from John. Knowing that John is in lockup, Anna and Sam don't believe him.

Carly arrives and Todd insists that he saw John knock Heather into the water and then he stopped him from taking the baby.

Dante and John discuss the possibility of there being someone who looks like John and is out on a killing spree.

Alexis is furious at Molly for hiding Rafe.

Sonny and Connie share some time together talking about the past.

Kristina checks in on Johnny while doing her community service. Johnny tells Kristina that he gave his share of the Haunted Star to Starr.

Alexis asks Diane to represent Rafe and sweetens the deal by telling her that Rafe comes from money.

TJ is upset with Molly for hiding Rafe.

Caleb tries to fool Sam who is on her way home with Danny. Sam tells him to stay away from her.

Back at the station, John begs Anna to let him out because Sam is in danger.

Carly tells Todd that she believes he is telling the truth.

Deceptive Deeds

As John sits in a holding cell, Sam plans how to help him.

Molly hides Rafe.

Olivia's visions continue and she feels strongly that Heather is out there dressed as a nurse.

Steve investigates Sabrina and thanks to Britt altering test results, Sabrina is found to have given the wrong medicine. Patrick tries to tell her it will be okay but Sabrina is crushed.

Britt has a hard time concealing her delight over ruining Sabrina. Will Olivia figure out the connection between her vision and what Britt has done with Maxie's help?

Caleb does a convincing job of being John which makes him look guiltier.

Lucy is desperate to go after Caleb and Kevin tells her that he is through standing by her side.

Alexis struggles with trying to defend Lucy for Kevin's sake and getting John out of trouble.

Molly leaves Danny in Rafe's watch and Heather appears to take him away.

Todd contemplates leaving for parts unknown even though it means not seeing Starr or Carly again.

Anna struggles with John's apparent guilt.

Caleb kills again.

Yesterday on GH

Frisco tells Felicia that he wants her and Maxie back in his life.

Felicia tells him that she is with Mac now.

Mac prepares to fight for Felicia.

Lulu is excited to have her mother back in town and Laura questions her about Luke's relationship with Anna.

Anna tells Luke that she wants to find true love again and they agree to be just friends.

The evidence against John builds up and when he shows up at the PCPD, Dante shares the footage with him. John is then taken into custody.

Britt forces Maxie to help her ruin Sabrina's career which Maxie does but feels horrible about.

Olivia has another vision and believes Heather is back in town.

She also sees something about Sabrina but is unable to decide what it means.

Patrick defends Sabrina when the cop dies and it looks like Sabrina gave him the wrong medicine.

John Looks Like a Murderer

Duke presents his idea to AJ and Michael as Tracy tells Luke the same idea.

Anna discovers that someone who looks just like John helped Rafe leave.

Molly continues to defend Rafe to TJ.

Britt pushes Maxie to get rid of Sabrina.

Anna and Dante arrive on the scene where the cop was stabbed and find the murder weapon that killed Allison.

The hunt for the recipe for Pickle Lila is on.

Rafe finds his way to Molly's and waits for TJ to leave.

Sabrina tells Dante that she found McBain with the cop when she arrived at the pier.

Rafe tells Molly that he witnessed McBain kill the cop and he told him that he is his dad.

John returns to the PCPD to find out that he is a suspected murderer.

Luke goes to see Anna and persuades her to talk about them.

Anna questions her judgment about people especially what is happening with John.

Laura Spencer happens by the dock just in time to see Luke and Anna kissing.

The Fans Have Spoken

When I first read that the character of Lucy Coe was returning to Port Charles I have to admit that I was less than thrilled. Lynn Herring might be a fun actress but the character of Lucy was one that quite frankly got on my nerves. Her outrageous antics, her pet duck and in the crossover soap "Port Charles" her vampire slaying, well, it was all too much for this fan.

Bringing Lucy back to help revive the Nurses Ball seemed like a good idea. With the demise of ELQ that dream of a young student nurse seems to have been dashed. I guess that the writers knew all along where they were headed but the fans wish they would have gone a different way.

The legal complications with having the characters from One Life to Live continue on General Hospital certainly have caused the writers to change directions. Why add in the ridiculous vampire story which helped to kill Port Charles?

After All My Children and One Life to Live were axed in 2012, the writers at General Hospital should have been on their guard. If it could happen to these long-running shows, certainly GH is not immune to the same fate.

Although it has been fun to see Todd interact with Sonny, Johnny and Carly, his exit back to Llanview could have been a casual progression. John McBain's almost-romance with Sam Morgan made it easier for fans to get over the loss of long-time fan favorite Steve Burton but again, Sam could have decided that it was too soon for her to enter into a new romance and John could have gone back to Llanview to win back Natalie. I don't know how they are going to handle the loss of Starr after making her such a big part of the show thanks to her romance with Michael.

The reincarnation of One Life to Live via Hulu is something new and who knows how it will take off? Will long-time soap viewers adjust to the idea of watching soaps on the Internet? Will Prospect Parks investment pay off or will OLTL die in a few short months?

Meanwhile back in Port Charles as they get ready to celebrate 50 years of General Hospital, Genie Francis is returning to her role as Laura Spencer. Laura was one of the most popular characters ever on the show. Her wedding to Luke Spencer made ratings history.

Hopefully the writers will do Laura justice and bring her back with a story line worthy of her character's history.

With the current vampire slaying/Port Charles is in danger crap, this longtime fan is getting fed up and ready to lose hope that this soap will be saved.

Connie Does the Right Thing

Connie arrives at the Quartermaine's just in time to save Tracy from the feds.

They have a heart-to-heart and as Tracy confesses her role in ELQ's demise, Sonny and Shawn walk in and witness her confession.

Tracy panics but Connie manages to get Sonny to keep the secret.

Duke, Michael and AJ come up with a plan to save ELQ.

Luke finds Todd hiding in his office and uses it to get Carly to tell him about the heir.

Tracy realizes that her father did leave her something worth having after all.

Carly and Todd share a special goodbye.

Lucy holds Anna hostage briefly but Anna turns the table on her. Anna then realizes what happened to the prisoner, or does she?

Caleb takes Raiff to the dock where he killed Allison and tells him that he is his father. Raiff escapes but Caleb doesn't seem worried about it.

Where is John McBain while this Caleb person is busy fooling others into thinking that he is a murderer?

Tracy discusses the future with Luke and then realizes she holds the key to her own future.

Next week on GH:

Laura Spencer returns! What secrets will she be returning with?

Hopefully this whole vampire storyline will fade away quickly as John McBain, Todd Manning and Starr leave Port Charles for Llanview.

Tracy looks for the daughter of Franco who might hold the key to who will run ELQ.

Carly lives with the sadness of another broken relationship.

Will Sonny be able to love Connie and forget about Kate?

What is Heather up to and when will she finally be caught?

Vampires or Delusions?

Molly is insistent that Raiff is innocent although TJ tries to make her see reason. John tries to talk to Raiff and get to the bottom of who killed Allison.

Lucy, who is hiding out at Windemere has an encounter with Caleb but was it just a bad dream?

Tracy insists that Luke help her save her father's legacy but later gets arrested by federal agents.

Carly has a conversation with Todd who asks her to run away with him.

Connie does the right thing and Kristina gets community service.

She then confesses that she also lied about Sonny giving up ELQ but won't tell Michael who did give her the information.

Shawn knows TJ and Molly are up to something.

Anna questions the evidence that shows John might have been the murderer.

Caleb comes to visit Raiff.

Britt Blackmails Maxie

Maxie gets scared when Britt almost tells Lulu the truth about the baby.

Patrick tells Elizabeth that she was right about Britt and Sabrina fills her in on the details.

Elizabeth urges Sabrina to go after Patrick.

Todd agrees to make an alliance with Heather who promises to help him and Lucy get out of Ferncliff.

Kevin sees Mac and Felicia and tells them that he and Lucy just weren't meant to be.

Raiff tells Anna that it was John who killed his mother because he saw him do it.

Molly and TJ go to the police station when they hear about the murder and Molly tells Sam all about her lunch with Raiff.

Raiff tells Molly that he didn't kill his mother.

Britt agrees to keep Maxie's secret if Maxie will do something for her.

Frisco returns to Port Charles.

Coming: Felicia is shocked to see Frisco. Anna struggles with Raiff's confession. Will Heather's plan work?

February Sweeps

It's February soap fans and that means sweeps time! So what can we expect to happen on General Hospital? Lots of old faces and the exiting of some newer characters that many of us have grown to love.

With Todd and Lucy in Ferncliff, it looks like Heather might be the only one who can help them get out.

Meanwhile, due to Tracy's leak to Connie, the feds are now coming after her. She will ask Luke to help her.

Sonny will have to choose between Connie and Michael. Olivia will try and get Connie to back off of Kristina but Connie is bent on punishing her even though she is the one who caused her own son's death.

Since Prospect Park owns the characters of One Life to Live, crossovers Todd, Starr and John will be leaving Port Charles. This means the end of Michael and Starr, no possibilities for romance between Sam and John and no reconciliation for Carly and Todd.

As a OLTL fan I wish it could go back to the way it was but we cannot go back. Right now the legal battling is going on but it looks like these 3 fan favorites will be written out of the show.

Meanwhile some more old faces will be returning to General Hospital. Genie Francis is coming back as Laura Spencer and she has a big secret.

Maxie's dad Frisco Jones is set to return. Scott Baldwin is another character from the past who will be coming mid-February.

AJ and Elizabeth might be exploring a relationship as Patrick finally sees who Britt is. Sabrina might get her wish as Patrick finally sees how she feels about him.

There is a Quartermaine heir out there, and soon we might find out who that is.

With Johnny in jail, Todd in Ferncliff and AJ back in Port Charles, Carly struggles with her failure with men. Will the Carly of old emerge?

Anna still has to decide between a future with Duke or Luke as Robert remains in a vegetative state in Switzerland.

Maxie's secret is threatened to be revealed as Britt knows the truth and is looking to ruin others lives the way she feels Sabrina has ruined hers.

The fate of the Nurses' ball is unknown as ELQ is in turmoil thanks in part to Tracy. Will losing his dream cause AJ to revert back to his old ways?

You might notice that I am ignoring the whole "vampire" story as it is quite ridiculous but knowing that Michael Easton (John McBain) is leaving the soap, are the writers using this ridiculous plot to get rid of him?

General Hospital lost Steve Burton (Jason) the hitman with a heart and there is a void due to that. John McBain saved Port Charles during the water crisis (with Dante's help) but we need another hero!

Luke is back (again) but the void hasn't been filled by Jason's loss. AJ's return has been interesting but he is a snake and I don't know how many fans are rooting for him.

Michael will have a broken heart again with Starr leaving.

Sonny has been turned into a former shell of himself by his ridiculous hanging on waiting for Kate.

Patrick looks like he just might be headed for a romance with student nurse Sabrina but that doesn't offer up much hope for excitement.
