True Identity

While locked in their cells, John tries to convince Todd and Rafe that he is not the killer the cops are looking for.

Meanwhile Alexis and Shawn discover that Sam and Danny are missing.

Anna runs into Duke on the pier and tells him that she and Luke are over.

Luke is disgusted when Scott tells him that he and Laura are engaged.

Alexis calls Anna and they go to see John.

John's worse fears come true when he finds out that Sam is missing.

Connie awakens as Kate and is horrified that Sonny slept with her. He tries to explain himself but Kate doesn't want to hear it.

Olivia and Steve discuss her visions and then Kate arrives at their door.

Valentine's Day

Maxie accepts Frisco's invitation to go to the party at the Haunted Star unaware that he is only trying to intimidate Mac and Felicia who are also there.

Felix urges Sabrina to go to the party with him even though she cannot shake the guilt she feels over causing the officer's death.

Steve feels sadness over Heather's alleged death and Olivia consoles him. Connie tags along with Steve and Olivia after making a joke over Heather's possible murder.

Sonny tags along with Dante who feels badly that his father is alone.

Michael buys Starr a special present.

Connie tries to get Starr to give her the rights to the boat saying they are hers. Sonny breaks up the argument between them and Michael is disgusted by his father's defending Connie.

Sonny kisses Connie.

Laura surprises Elizabeth and her grandsons but their visit is interrupted by AJ.

Laura receives a phone call from someone who wants to know her every move.

AJ and Elizabeth talk.

Lulu urges Mac to fight for Felicia and he takes her home.

Frisco tells Maxie that she needs to share what is bothering her and he will help.

Lulu receives a strange gift.

Luke tells Tracy that Anna dumped him and then finds himself outside the Haunted Star.

Luke and Laura finally come face to face.

Caleb Goes After Sam

Todd is "caught" with baby Danny by Anna and Sam but explains that he was actually saving the baby from John. Knowing that John is in lockup, Anna and Sam don't believe him.

Carly arrives and Todd insists that he saw John knock Heather into the water and then he stopped him from taking the baby.

Dante and John discuss the possibility of there being someone who looks like John and is out on a killing spree.

Alexis is furious at Molly for hiding Rafe.

Sonny and Connie share some time together talking about the past.

Kristina checks in on Johnny while doing her community service. Johnny tells Kristina that he gave his share of the Haunted Star to Starr.

Alexis asks Diane to represent Rafe and sweetens the deal by telling her that Rafe comes from money.

TJ is upset with Molly for hiding Rafe.

Caleb tries to fool Sam who is on her way home with Danny. Sam tells him to stay away from her.

Back at the station, John begs Anna to let him out because Sam is in danger.

Carly tells Todd that she believes he is telling the truth.

As John sits in a holding cell, Sam plans how to help him.

Molly hides Rafe.

Olivia's visions continue and she feels strongly that Heather is out there dressed as a nurse.

Steve investigates Sabrina and thanks to Britt altering test results, Sabrina is found to have given the wrong medicine. Patrick tries to tell her it will be okay but Sabrina is crushed.

Britt has a hard time concealing her delight over ruining Sabrina. Will Olivia figure out the connection between her vision and what Britt has done with Maxie's help?

Caleb does a convincing job of being John which makes him look guiltier.

Lucy is desperate to go after Caleb and Kevin tells her that he is through standing by her side.

Alexis struggles with trying to defend Lucy for Kevin's sake and getting John out of trouble.

Molly leaves Danny in Rafe's watch and Heather appears to take him away.

Todd contemplates leaving for parts unknown even though it means not seeing Starr or Carly again.

Anna struggles with John's apparent guilt.

Caleb kills again.

Yesterday on GH

Frisco tells Felicia that he wants her and Maxie back in his life.

Felicia tells him that she is with Mac now.

Mac prepares to fight for Felicia.

Lulu is excited to have her mother back in town and Laura questions her about Luke's relationship with Anna.

Anna tells Luke that she wants to find true love again and they agree to be just friends.

The evidence against John builds up and when he shows up at the PCPD, Dante shares the footage with him. John is then taken into custody.

Britt forces Maxie to help her ruin Sabrina's career which Maxie does but feels horrible about.

Olivia has another vision and believes Heather is back in town.

She also sees something about Sabrina but is unable to decide what it means.

Patrick defends Sabrina when the cop dies and it looks like Sabrina gave him the wrong medicine.

John Looks Like a Murderer

Duke presents his idea to AJ and Michael as Tracy tells Luke the same idea.

Anna discovers that someone who looks just like John helped Rafe leave.

Molly continues to defend Rafe to TJ.

Britt pushes Maxie to get rid of Sabrina.

Anna and Dante arrive on the scene where the cop was stabbed and find the murder weapon that killed Allison.

The hunt for the recipe for Pickle Lila is on.

Rafe finds his way to Molly's and waits for TJ to leave.

Sabrina tells Dante that she found McBain with the cop when she arrived at the pier.

Rafe tells Molly that he witnessed McBain kill the cop and he told him that he is his dad.

John returns to the PCPD to find out that he is a suspected murderer.

Luke goes to see Anna and persuades her to talk about them.

Anna questions her judgment about people especially what is happening with John.

Laura Spencer happens by the dock just in time to see Luke and Anna kissing.

The Fans Have Spoken

When I first read that the character of Lucy Coe was returning to Port Charles I have to admit that I was less than thrilled. Lynn Herring might be a fun actress but the character of Lucy was one that quite frankly got on my nerves. Her outrageous antics, her pet duck and in the crossover soap "Port Charles" her vampire slaying, well, it was all too much for this fan.

Bringing Lucy back to help revive the Nurses Ball seemed like a good idea. With the demise of ELQ that dream of a young student nurse seems to have been dashed. I guess that the writers knew all along where they were headed but the fans wish they would have gone a different way.

The legal complications with having the characters from One Life to Live continue on General Hospital certainly have caused the writers to change directions. Why add in the ridiculous vampire story which helped to kill Port Charles?

After All My Children and One Life to Live were axed in 2012, the writers at General Hospital should have been on their guard. If it could happen to these long-running shows, certainly GH is not immune to the same fate.

Although it has been fun to see Todd interact with Sonny, Johnny and Carly, his exit back to Llanview could have been a casual progression. John McBain's almost-romance with Sam Morgan made it easier for fans to get over the loss of long-time fan favorite Steve Burton but again, Sam could have decided that it was too soon for her to enter into a new romance and John could have gone back to Llanview to win back Natalie. I don't know how they are going to handle the loss of Starr after making her such a big part of the show thanks to her romance with Michael.

The reincarnation of One Life to Live via Hulu is something new and who knows how it will take off? Will long-time soap viewers adjust to the idea of watching soaps on the Internet? Will Prospect Parks investment pay off or will OLTL die in a few short months?

Meanwhile back in Port Charles as they get ready to celebrate 50 years of General Hospital, Genie Francis is returning to her role as Laura Spencer. Laura was one of the most popular characters ever on the show. Her wedding to Luke Spencer made ratings history.

Hopefully the writers will do Laura justice and bring her back with a story line worthy of her character's history.

With the current vampire slaying/Port Charles is in danger crap, this longtime fan is getting fed up and ready to lose hope that this soap will be saved.

Connie Does the Right Thing

Connie arrives at the Quartermaine's just in time to save Tracy from the feds.

They have a heart-to-heart and as Tracy confesses her role in ELQ's demise, Sonny and Shawn walk in and witness her confession.

Tracy panics but Connie manages to get Sonny to keep the secret.

Duke, Michael and AJ come up with a plan to save ELQ.

Luke finds Todd hiding in his office and uses it to get Carly to tell him about the heir.

Tracy realizes that her father did leave her something worth having after all.

Carly and Todd share a special goodbye.

Lucy holds Anna hostage briefly but Anna turns the table on her. Anna then realizes what happened to the prisoner, or does she?

Caleb takes Raiff to the dock where he killed Allison and tells him that he is his father. Raiff escapes but Caleb doesn't seem worried about it.

Where is John McBain while this Caleb person is busy fooling others into thinking that he is a murderer?

Tracy discusses the future with Luke and then realizes she holds the key to her own future.

Next week on GH:

Laura Spencer returns! What secrets will she be returning with?

Hopefully this whole vampire storyline will fade away quickly as John McBain, Todd Manning and Starr leave Port Charles for Llanview.

Tracy looks for the daughter of Franco who might hold the key to who will run ELQ.

Carly lives with the sadness of another broken relationship.

Will Sonny be able to love Connie and forget about Kate?

What is Heather up to and when will she finally be caught?

Vampires or Delusions?

Molly is insistent that Raiff is innocent although TJ tries to make her see reason. John tries to talk to Raiff and get to the bottom of who killed Allison.

Lucy, who is hiding out at Windemere has an encounter with Caleb but was it just a bad dream?

Tracy insists that Luke help her save her father's legacy but later gets arrested by federal agents.

Carly has a conversation with Todd who asks her to run away with him.

Connie does the right thing and Kristina gets community service.

She then confesses that she also lied about Sonny giving up ELQ but won't tell Michael who did give her the information.

Shawn knows TJ and Molly are up to something.

Anna questions the evidence that shows John might have been the murderer.

Caleb comes to visit Raiff.

Britt Blackmails Maxie

Maxie gets scared when Britt almost tells Lulu the truth about the baby.

Patrick tells Elizabeth that she was right about Britt and Sabrina fills her in on the details.

Elizabeth urges Sabrina to go after Patrick.

Todd agrees to make an alliance with Heather who promises to help him and Lucy get out of Ferncliff.

Kevin sees Mac and Felicia and tells them that he and Lucy just weren't meant to be.

Raiff tells Anna that it was John who killed his mother because he saw him do it.

Molly and TJ go to the police station when they hear about the murder and Molly tells Sam all about her lunch with Raiff.

Raiff tells Molly that he didn't kill his mother.

Britt agrees to keep Maxie's secret if Maxie will do something for her.

Frisco returns to Port Charles.

Coming: Felicia is shocked to see Frisco. Anna struggles with Raiff's confession. Will Heather's plan work?

February Sweeps

It's February soap fans and that means sweeps time! So what can we expect to happen on General Hospital? Lots of old faces and the exiting of some newer characters that many of us have grown to love.

With Todd and Lucy in Ferncliff, it looks like Heather might be the only one who can help them get out.

Meanwhile, due to Tracy's leak to Connie, the feds are now coming after her. She will ask Luke to help her.

Sonny will have to choose between Connie and Michael. Olivia will try and get Connie to back off of Kristina but Connie is bent on punishing her even though she is the one who caused her own son's death.

Since Prospect Park owns the characters of One Life to Live, crossovers Todd, Starr and John will be leaving Port Charles. This means the end of Michael and Starr, no possibilities for romance between Sam and John and no reconciliation for Carly and Todd.

As a OLTL fan I wish it could go back to the way it was but we cannot go back. Right now the legal battling is going on but it looks like these 3 fan favorites will be written out of the show.

Meanwhile some more old faces will be returning to General Hospital. Genie Francis is coming back as Laura Spencer and she has a big secret.

Maxie's dad Frisco Jones is set to return. Scott Baldwin is another character from the past who will be coming mid-February.

AJ and Elizabeth might be exploring a relationship as Patrick finally sees who Britt is. Sabrina might get her wish as Patrick finally sees how she feels about him.

There is a Quartermaine heir out there, and soon we might find out who that is.

With Johnny in jail, Todd in Ferncliff and AJ back in Port Charles, Carly struggles with her failure with men. Will the Carly of old emerge?

Anna still has to decide between a future with Duke or Luke as Robert remains in a vegetative state in Switzerland.

Maxie's secret is threatened to be revealed as Britt knows the truth and is looking to ruin others lives the way she feels Sabrina has ruined hers.

The fate of the Nurses' ball is unknown as ELQ is in turmoil thanks in part to Tracy. Will losing his dream cause AJ to revert back to his old ways?

You might notice that I am ignoring the whole "vampire" story as it is quite ridiculous but knowing that Michael Easton (John McBain) is leaving the soap, are the writers using this ridiculous plot to get rid of him?

General Hospital lost Steve Burton (Jason) the hitman with a heart and there is a void due to that. John McBain saved Port Charles during the water crisis (with Dante's help) but we need another hero!

Luke is back (again) but the void hasn't been filled by Jason's loss. AJ's return has been interesting but he is a snake and I don't know how many fans are rooting for him.

Michael will have a broken heart again with Starr leaving.

Sonny has been turned into a former shell of himself by his ridiculous hanging on waiting for Kate.

Patrick looks like he just might be headed for a romance with student nurse Sabrina but that doesn't offer up much hope for excitement.

Vampires Killed Port Charles- A Commentary

This week Steve Burton made his first appearances as "Dylan McAvoy" on the Young & the Restless. Many fans of the actor who portrayed Jason on GH for 20 years have followed him over to Y&R and meanwhile in Port Charles, the storylines have turned to vampires.

Soap fans might remember the short-lived General Hospital spin-off "Port Charles" that had a storyline about vampires. It was ridiculous and helped to kill off that 30 minute daytime drama.

My question (and I am sure other daytime fans conquer) is WHY are the writers taking the show down this road???

With the 30th anniversary of GH coming in April, I understand the bringing back of old characters but to do so with this ridiculous storyline just under-minds the intelligence of the viewers. It also, quite frankly, turns many of us off.

As a daytime television fan who works during the day, I watch GH at night and then do my daily updates. This storyline involving Lucy Coe (NEVER one of MY favorites) and John and Sam irritates me so greatly that for weeks I haven't even been touching upon it.

This past week it has been tough to even watch it. Although it is fun to think about how in another soap life the actors who portray Sam and John were lovers on Port Charles, many of us have grown to love them as Sam and John and with Jason's apparent demise we are rooting for them as a couple. All this vampire garbage is going to do is ensure that General Hospital will suffer the fate that the other ABC daytime soaps did.

As a faithful fan I am hanging in there, trying my darndest to ignore this nonsense but I fear that the vampire story will take over.

We have AJ back, a possible love connection between him and Elizabeth, drama with Maxie/Lulu and Dante and so much more on the horizon. Why are the writers taking us down this road???

Vampires and Lies

Ferncliff is getting crowded with some colorful residents of Port Charles. Lucy Coe overhears Todd telling Connie that he will be getting out soon and insists upon being a part of his escape plan.

Meanwhile Connie forms a strange bond with Tracy and after publishing proof that mob money kept ELQ alive, Connie told AJ and Michael that it was Sonny who gave her the source.

Michael doesn't want to believe that his father would do that and wrestles with believing he wanted vengeance so badly that he would hurt him.

Connie refuses to drop the charges against Kristina who sits in jail for attacking Connie.

After Sabrina finds Emma, she stands up to Britt and tells Patrick that Emma ran away because of mean things that Britt said to her.
Patrick believes Britt's story that Emma is lying but then later overhears Britt threaten Sabrina.

John and Sam investigate a strange girl named Allison who comes to town and like Lucy, believes that they are people they are not.

Kevin comes to town and tells Alexis that he cannot help Lucy with her delusions. He goes to see Lucy who begs him for help but also insists that the vampires are real. Kevin tells her that although he loves her deeply, he cannot have her in his life.

Sam decides to go see Lucy and reason with her.

Molly runs into a young homeless boy and buys him lunch.

John gets a call from Allison and when he goes to meet her, he finds her dead and Raiff sitting nearby with the murder weapon.

Olivia's Visions

(Having missed most of GH for the week, I am catching up and sharing reviews out of order)

Luke rushes to see Anna and is stunned by the revelation that the "real" Duke Lavery is alive. He asks Anna to choose but she explains that she cannot make a choice right now.

Duke accepts Anna's choice to not make a choice and she is relieved by his actions.

Lulu and Dante rush to see Maxie and as they meet up at the hospital, Olivia has another vision of the puppy.

As Britt stands nearby, Olivia and Maxie talk about the "dog" Olivia sees and Maxie figures out that she is seeing a "Jackal" which is Spinelli's nickname.

So Olivia's vision does have meaning after all even though only Maxie and Britt know what it means. How long will Britt keep Maxie's secret?

Ellie and Spinelli discuss what happened on New Year's eve and Ellie is devastated and angry by Damien's confession.

Sonny and Connie share a moment but he is unable to accept that Kate is not coming back. Connie gets angry and asks him to leave.

Coming: Connie gets back to business as Sonny longs for the Kate he lost. Britt cannot keep Maxie's secret. What will Ellie do about Spinelli's indiscretion? Will Lulu figure out that Maxie does have a secret?

Emma Missing!

With Todd and Johnny in jail, Connie takes over control of the paper.

TJ tries to get Connie to give Molly back her book thinking that losing Trey might have softened her up but Connie refuses and throws him out.

Starr and Molly console Kristina who feels she has nothing left without Trey.

AJ approaches Carly and confesses to telling Michael that he spent the night with her. AJ begs Carly to help him get back ELQ but she refuses.

Ned overhears Carly hint that there might be another Quartermaine heir but refuses to tell him who she means.

Elizabeth tells Patrick that she doesn't like Brit and harshly tells him that Brit is not such a nice person.

Felix and Elizabeth urge Sabrina to go after Patrick.

Carly makes a friend in Felix after she offers the MetroCourt for the Nurses Ball.

Epiphany and Sam discuss John after he comes in after Lucy attacks him.

Tracy tries to get Sonny to help her stop AJ but he declines.

Michael goes to see Johnny for help in stopping Tracy. He tells Johnny that his mother will never forgive him.

Patrick agrees to a date with Brit and Emma.

TJ arrives at Molly's and they discover that Kristina is missing.

Kristina goes to seek revenge on Connie.

Brit and Emma have a talk and Brit informs the little girl that she doesn't like her either but she is not going anywhere.

Emma disappears from Kelly's after Brit is left to watch her.

Todd Gets a Chance to Change

Tracy scrambles to save face after Lucy gets sent off for psychiatric evaluation.

Ellie and Spinelli struggle with her paralysis.

Maxie goes to see Brit and asks her to help her get pregnant.

Lulu and Dante search for Luke.

Todd gets arraigned and has the chance to tell the truth and get Carly back but he chooses to continue to lie.

John tries to comfort Carly.

Brit takes a pregnancy test and finds that Maxie is pregnant after all.

Lulu fears for her father's life but senses that Maxie is hiding something.

AJ goes to see Lucy but fails in his mission.

Lucy encounters Heather Webber.

Spinelli tells Maxie that he chooses Ellie still.

Spinelli returns to Ellie's room to find that she is regaining feeling in her legs.

Tracy tells Michael that she has won and AJ cannot change it.

Michael tries to lie for AJ but Tracy sees through him.

Lulu and Dante get bad news.

Vampires and Returning From the Dead

As Lucy Coe sits in lockup after her bizarre attack on John McBain, Sam doesn't leave John's bedside except to go see Todd.

Todd doesn't admit wrongdoing to Sam but she overhears his conversation with Diane about having the DNA test.

AJ fills Carly in on their night spent together and then returns home to a worried Monica. After hearing about Lucy's psychotic break, AJ has renewed hope in getting ELQ back.

Anna goes to see John who fills her in on what has happened while she was gone. Anna shares her feelings about Duke.

Alexis calls Kevin to try and get his help with Lucy.

Felicia goes to see Lucy but finds her friend very delusional.

Sabrina tries to back out of putting on the Nurses' ball but Felix convinces her that she cannot quit.

Felix goes to see Carly about using the Metro Court for the ball.

Sam Moves Forward

Sam leans on John for support as she begins to plan a memorial for Jason.

Lucy Coe happens upon John who she believes is some Caleb person (a flashback of sorts from Port Charles) and she stabs him with a wooden stake.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Todd plans his escape after coaxing Johnny into beating him up.

Johnny warns Diane about Todd's plan and Diane heads off to stop him.

Sonny tries to help Connie accept Trey's death.

Michael and Starr comfort Kristina.

Sam stops Todd from escaping.

Steve works to save John from Lucy's insane attack.

AJ takes a drunk Carly to the hotel. Carly has a moment where she loses it and AJ almost feels sorry for her. He puts a passed out Carly to bed but plans a surprise for her in the morning.

Genie Francis to Return as Laura Spencer!

On February 11th, Genie Francis will be returning to General Hospital as Laura Spencer. Since being cut loose from her role as evil Genevieve on the Young & the Restless rumours have been flying about Genie returning to the soap that made her a daytime star.

With Lulu and Dante's fertility issues and Luke being off in Turkey, now is the perfect time for Laura Spencer's return.

Word is that Laura will be returning with a secret. Aren't there always secrets?

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Last we saw Luke he was locked up in a rather dangerous situation but his relationship with Anna has still yet to be resolved.

Speaking of Anna, she and Duke are awaiting news of Robert's fate with Robin nearby being held by Jerry Jacks (does ANYONE ever DIE on General Hospital?)

What will come of Robert?

When is Anna going to return to her job as police commissioner and how will she handle Duke when she cannot bear to even have him touch her?

Now that Tracy has regained control of ELQ will her attentions turn to Luke once he finally returns to Port Charles?

With Laura's return all kinds of drama is expected.

Dante and Lulu have been dealing with Dante's mother's visions and the most recent one of Olivia's fear regarding Steve may turn into the latest vision come true as Scott Reeves who plays Steve is scheduled to leave the show.

I was really hoping for some happiness for Olivia and Steve but it doesn't look good.

And as far as Olivia's cousin Kate/Connie goes, will Trey's death snap Kate back into control? Will there be a happy ending for Kate and Sonny?

Maxie will soon be finding out that she is in fact pregnant from her one-night-stand with Spinelli. Will she confess the truth or in true Maxie fashion lie?

Now that Carly is letting loose rather recklessly who will be the next guy she will hook up with?

We all remember bad-girl Carly. Is she going to return?

Speaking of returns...what about Carly and Sonny's son Morgan? He is off in boarding school but I think the time is getting right for a return.

Share your thoughts on Genie Francis' return. Personally I watched her as Genevieve and although she did great playing a bad girl, it will sure be nice to see Laura return.
