Sam Moves Forward

Sam leans on John for support as she begins to plan a memorial for Jason.

Lucy Coe happens upon John who she believes is some Caleb person (a flashback of sorts from Port Charles) and she stabs him with a wooden stake.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Todd plans his escape after coaxing Johnny into beating him up.

Johnny warns Diane about Todd's plan and Diane heads off to stop him.

Sonny tries to help Connie accept Trey's death.

Michael and Starr comfort Kristina.

Sam stops Todd from escaping.

Steve works to save John from Lucy's insane attack.

AJ takes a drunk Carly to the hotel. Carly has a moment where she loses it and AJ almost feels sorry for her. He puts a passed out Carly to bed but plans a surprise for her in the morning.

Genie Francis to Return as Laura Spencer!

On February 11th, Genie Francis will be returning to General Hospital as Laura Spencer. Since being cut loose from her role as evil Genevieve on the Young & the Restless rumours have been flying about Genie returning to the soap that made her a daytime star.

With Lulu and Dante's fertility issues and Luke being off in Turkey, now is the perfect time for Laura Spencer's return.

Word is that Laura will be returning with a secret. Aren't there always secrets?

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Last we saw Luke he was locked up in a rather dangerous situation but his relationship with Anna has still yet to be resolved.

Speaking of Anna, she and Duke are awaiting news of Robert's fate with Robin nearby being held by Jerry Jacks (does ANYONE ever DIE on General Hospital?)

What will come of Robert?

When is Anna going to return to her job as police commissioner and how will she handle Duke when she cannot bear to even have him touch her?

Now that Tracy has regained control of ELQ will her attentions turn to Luke once he finally returns to Port Charles?

With Laura's return all kinds of drama is expected.

Dante and Lulu have been dealing with Dante's mother's visions and the most recent one of Olivia's fear regarding Steve may turn into the latest vision come true as Scott Reeves who plays Steve is scheduled to leave the show.

I was really hoping for some happiness for Olivia and Steve but it doesn't look good.

And as far as Olivia's cousin Kate/Connie goes, will Trey's death snap Kate back into control? Will there be a happy ending for Kate and Sonny?

Maxie will soon be finding out that she is in fact pregnant from her one-night-stand with Spinelli. Will she confess the truth or in true Maxie fashion lie?

Now that Carly is letting loose rather recklessly who will be the next guy she will hook up with?

We all remember bad-girl Carly. Is she going to return?

Speaking of returns...what about Carly and Sonny's son Morgan? He is off in boarding school but I think the time is getting right for a return.

Share your thoughts on Genie Francis' return. Personally I watched her as Genevieve and although she did great playing a bad girl, it will sure be nice to see Laura return.

Final Fate

Carly realizes just how alone she is and drowns her sorrows at the Floating Rib.

Connie tries to get AJ to join her with a drink but he holds back.

Kristina almost pulls the plug on Trey and Alexis warns her that she cannot make that choice.

Sabrina is devastated by Brit and Patrick's hookup and Patrick's alleged feelings towards her. Elizabeth tries to tell her that Brit is manipulating the situation.

The Nurse's Ball is a go thanks to Tracy who writes the check after Lucy agrees to choose her side over AJ's.

John tells Sam about the final moments of Jason's life.

Todd tries to figure out how to get Carly to forgive him.

John promises Todd that he will not get away with what he has done.

Y&R Gets Steve Burton

ABC Daytime has blown it again. Steve Burton will be appearing on the Young & the Restless starting January 29th.

Steve, who played Jason Morgan, left General Hospital due in part to the inflexibility of his schedule.

Hmmmm...didn't Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky Spencer) leave for the same reason? Now Jonathan appears on primetime in "Nashville".

With General Hospital being ABC's last soap and ratings fluctuating, shouldn't the powers-that-be at ABC do everything in their power to try and keep their actors happy?

Steve Burton wanted to be able to spend time with his family and moved them to Tennessee in an attempt to put his family first. ABC/GH was unwilling to work with him to give him a schedule that would allow him to commute.

Y&R it seems was more willing to negotiate.

So GH's loss is now Y&R's gain.

Other news this week is that Prospect Park is going forward with plans to revive All My Children and One Life to Live. What this means for OLTL actors who crossed over to GH is unknown.

AMC did leave us hanging. Who DID JR shoot?

I do miss OLTL but I have learned to live with it. Having some of my favorite characters move to Port Charles did make it easier. I love John McBain with Sam Morgan. Todd is a character and now that he has to pay for the baby-swappping incident, well, can he be redeemed by staying in Port Charles or should he run back to Llanview?

Starr and Michael make a great couple and there is so much more that can be explored with these two.

The fans are what keeps these shows going in spite of network execs who only are looking at the money. I personally think that General Hospital needs to think about their fans a bit more or else they might not make it to their 30th anniversary this spring.

As for Steve Burton I wish him the best. Love a guy who puts his family first. I will be watching him on Y&R since I got somewhat hooked on the show after I lost OLTL.

GH needs to do something about the whole Jason situation. Either confirm his death or (yes I am saying it) re-cast the role.

Johnny and Todd Go Down

At the hospital, Johnny makes sure that Todd goes down for his crimes also. Carly tells Todd there is no hope for them and she is disgusted with herself for believing his lies.

Starr overhears the end of their conversation and confronts her father.

Kristina summons Alexis to the hospital and she and Sonny arrive to give their support.

Although Steve tries to save Trey, he dies.

Dante puts Todd and Johnny together in the same cell.

Kate begins to come out.

Kristina is devastated and Starr feels like she is reliving losing her family all over again.

New Year , Old Secrets

Connie gets crazy trying to keep Johnny from spilling the truth.

Starr finds Johnny gagged and tied up at the Haunted Star and is knocked unconscious by Connie.

Michael finds Starr who insists they look for Johnny.

Meanwhile Trey and Kristina come across Connie in the garage where they are suspicious of her actions. Trey tells Connie he is leaving town.

Kristina asks why there is noise coming from her car's trunk and as Michael and Starr arrive, Connie takes off.

As everyone celebrates New Year's Eve, Todd and Carly decide to move forward with their relationship.

Lulu and Dante celebrate the coming year looking forward to becoming parents.

Maxie is home alone when a mysterious dog arrives at her door.

Spinelli gets loaded on the hospital roof as he waits for Ellie to arrive.

Ellie's car breaks down and as she walks along the foggy road trying to get cell coverage a speeding car comes along.

Maxie has a fall and goes to the hospital where she receives bad news.

Connie (with Johnny in her trunk) races away with Michael, Starr, Trey and Kristina following.

Starr realizes they are on the same stretch of road where Hope and Cole died.

Connie hits Ellie and crashes causing Michael's car to crash as well.

Connie literally hangs from a cliff with only Starr to rescue her. Starr struggles with having to save the woman who killed her family and then Johnny who has been rescued from the trunk by Michael, confesses to her.

Michael manages to call Dante who sends help for Ellie and Trey who has collapsed and is unconscious.

As Kristina watches, doctors fight to save Trey.

Sabrina calls Spinelli but he and Maxie are involved in a moment of passion.

Carly and Todd arrive at the hospital and witness Johnny confessing the truth. Starr's world is collapsing as she feels betrayed.

Coming: Johnny promises to not go down alone and as Todd stands helplessly by, Johnny reveals his secrets.

Is the shock of Trey's struggle enough to have Kate reappear?

Kristina decides to go to LA with Trey but Sonny is not happy with her choice.

Todd and Connie decide that Johnny needs to be stopped but what will Connie do to stop him?

Sabrina and Felix go to see Lucy Coe in the hopes that she will fund the Nurses' Ball. Lucy arrives in Port Charles determined to make it happen.

Monica is less than thrilled to see Lucy.

Monica apologizes to Elizabeth for her behavior towards her but thanks her for being decent to AJ.

Sonny assures Carly that AJ will screw up and Michael will find out who AJ really is.

AJ admits manipulating Sonny to Michael and tells him he will try and break old habits. The two team up to get ELQ.

Sam has enough of Tracy and AJ and gives them both equal shares of her stock so they can fight it out.

Spinelli clears the air with Ellie who mistakenly had the wrong idea about his feelings for Maxie.

Maxie gets implanted and the family excitedly awaits news of her pregnancy.

In Switzerland Anna and Robert find the real Duke. Robert finds Robin but is then injected by the evil doctor and is near death when Anna and Duke find him.

Patrick tries to move forward and Brit is only too willing to help as she pushes her way into his life.

Elizabeth tells Brit that Sabrina is much better suited for Patrick.

Alexis overhears Connie and Todd talking about his role in the baby switch. Alexis threatens Todd and Connie with legal action and more if they allow Molly's doctored up book to be published.

Faison Revealed!

John McBain teams up with Robert Scorpio to save Anna from Faison! The dynamic duo act as if they are delivering the room service faux Duke has ordered and when he answers the door, Anna is disgusted to find them there.

John turns up the thermostat in the room and notices that everyone is sweating except for faux Duke. After Robert throws a pitcher of hot water at faux Duke's face causing his mask to melt, the truth is revealed. A horrified Anna realizes that she has been taken.

After Interpol takes Faison away, Robert and Anna head to the clinic where they do a search of the rooms.

Meanwhile back in Port Charles, Sabrina heads off to find Lucy Coe to save the Nurses' Ball.

Lulu, Maxie and Dante prepare for the next step in their surrogacy plan.

Mac and others worry about Maxie.

Connie prepares to become a published author with Molly's stolen manuscript.

Johnny tells Connie that he is ready to confess instead of spending another minute tied to her.

Will the Real Duke Please Stand Up?

Anna is stunned by Faison's appearance. Faison presents a tied up Duke and then knocks Anna out temporarily.

Meanwhile back in Port Charles, Dante, John and Robert discuss finding Anna.

AJ goes to try and make peace with Sonny but instead decides to box with him.

Michael and Starr arrive to find AJ knocked out and Michael accuses Sonny of taking advantage of him.

Sabrina asks Elizabeth about Lucy Coe and they find that a student nurse knows how to get in touch with her.

Faison tells Duke his plan and when Anna comes to she is greeted by Duke but she is suspicious of who he really is.

Starr accuses AJ of playing Michael.

The Big Reveal

Faison surprises Anna by taking her to Switzerland where he plans on speeding up his timetable.

Meanwhile back in Port Charles, Robert is alarmed to find out that they have left the country.

Tracy agrees to help Robert stop Faison.

Diane gets the charges against AJ dropped by using his information about Faison.

Carly apologizes to Michael but then loses it when he tells her that he will be working with AJ at ELQ.

Todd tries to calm down Carly and teach her how to best deal with her son.

John and Dante team up to save Anna from Faison.

Todd turns down Sabrina's request for him to fund the Nurses' Ball. Patrick tells her that he is proud of her efforts.

Brit seems happy that the ball looks like it won't happen. Sabrina gets an idea.

Faison reveals his true self to a horrified Anna.

Duke's true identity is close to being revealed as Faison plans a romantic getaway with Anna.

Robert tries to convince John and Dante to help him save Anna.

Meanwhile AJ confides in Diane and Michael that he saw Faison when he was recovering in an overseas facility. Diane believes this is his key to staying out of jail.

Olivia's gift makes her sense that Duke is dangerous as she observes him urging Anna to take a surprise trip to Switzerland.

What is Faison's plan for Anna now that he knows Robert is on to him?

Lulu and Maxie deal with the side effects of preparing for surrogacy.

Maxie tells Ellie that she may have Damon now but he is her soulmate.

Connie steals Molly's manuscript with a plan to make it her own. Molly and TJ manage to get intern jobs at the magazine with the plan to find the missing manuscript.

Johnny almost confesses to Starr who believes his crime was just killing Anthony. She is relieved to know that Connie has blackmailed him because that means he is not that bad a person.

Skye, Blair and Tea take off in search of Tomas, believing that he is actually Lorenzo Alcazar.

Carly asks Todd if he has done something with Tomas and believes him when he tells her he had nothing to do with this although he is enjoying it.

Tracy attempts to suck up to Sam hoping to get her vote to stay in power at ELQ. Sam doesn't fall for her phoniness and tells AJ that she wants to stay neutral.

Michael witnesses Sonny's attempt at getting to Connie and is disgusted with his behavior.

Sonny tells Carly that his actions might have pushed Michael closer to AJ.

Sabrina works with Patrick to plan the Nurses ball.

The Week in Review

Robert uses his spy skills with the help of Olivia to figure out that Faison is posing as Duke in order to win Anna. He decides that he needs proof in order to protect and warn Anna of the danger she is in.

Meanwhile as Faison/Duke pushes Anna to become intimate, Anna senses that something is off and decides to slow down.

Lulu and Dante decide to go forward with the surrogate idea and take Sonny up on his offer.

Sonny feels alone after losing Kate, Jason and now his relationship with Michael is threatened. Sonny asks Shawn for his help.

Patrick decides that he still needs time to grieve Robin.

Sabrina and Elizabeth work on getting funding to revive the Nurses' Ball in honor of Robin.

Steve shares his secret about AJ's "death" with Olivia who is stunned.

Starr moves in with Michael after Maxie takes over her apartment.

Carly is disturbed that Todd has given Connie the magazine. Todd explains that he had no choice and tries to focus on being there for Carly and distract her from his lies.

Edward takes a turn for the worst and family comes to say goodbye to the patriarch.

After a touching moment with Sam and Jason's baby, Edward passes away.

Tracy feels lost without her father.

Ned arrives to comfort his mother. Skye and her daughter Lila Rae arrive to pay their respects to Edward.

As the Quartermaine's try to have a normal Thanksgiving in honor of Edward, Heather breaks in and takes Skye hostage. Alice saves the day but dinner is ruined. Pizza arrives as the ghosts of Edward and Lila watch.

The family remembers Edward and vows to get along for his sake atleast for the day.

Deception

Lulu and Robert discussed Duke and their suspicions about him. Lulu mentioned Olivia's vision and they went to see her.

With Elizabeth's help, they were able to figure out that Faison is the man behind the mask. Robert wonders what the angle is.

Tracy is stunned by AJ's release but manages to trick him to jump bail.

Michael goes to see Sam to talk about his family troubles.

Sam warns him that AJ doesn't deserve his loyalty.

Maxie confesses how she feels to Spinelli who doesn't jump at her confession.

Anna gets closer to "Duke".

Re-creating the Past

As AJ sits in jail, Michael is torn between Sonny and Carly and the father he never really knew.

Sonny vows that he will not lose Michael.

Faison moves forward with his plan to win Anna.

Connie tries to move forward with her life, taking her magazine much to the shock and disgust of Starr who doesn't understand why Todd is not throwing her to the curb.

Lulu and Dante talk with Olivia and Sonny about their family plans and Sonny makes Dante an offer.

Olivia observes Duke but sees him as Faison. Lulu remembers her reaction and tells Robert Scorpio.

Robert is suspicious about Duke and tells Anna that she wants Duke to be alive but she is not thinking rationally.

Ellie and Spinelli get closer and Maxie regrets not telling Spinelli how she feels.

Patrick rejects Brit's advances and explains that he just is not ready.

Sabrina and Elizabeth work to get funding to hold the Nurses' Ball in honor of Robin.

Steve is disturbed by AJ's return.

Monica and Alice are released from jail and Monica has it out with Tracy who wants AJ to pay for his crimes.

You Just Never Know

Sam pays a visit to Anna to find out what she is doing to find Jason. Anna shares the details of what she knows but warns Sam against hoping for a miracle. Sam reminds Anna that her husband just returned from the dead.

Faison reveals himself to Robin who bargains with him to let her go. Faison's motivation for kidnapping Robin is to get Anna to love him.

It is revealed that Duke actually is alive as well, being held in a room at the clinic where Robin is.

Sabrina discusses the Nurses' Ball with Patrick who thinks it would be a great idea as a tribute to Robin.

Brit gets Patrick to come over for a sleepover after finding out about Patrick's past from Elizabeth.

Lulu and Dante discuss surrogacy since they blew the adoption interview.

Carly is outraged to find AJ with Michael and she calls the police although Michael asks her not to.

The Secret is Out!

It's been a busy week on General Hospital! Are writers trying to distract us from the loss of one of our favorite characters (Jason) by bringing others back from the dead? I don't know about you but Jason's loss is felt even stronger by the revelation that his brother AJ is alive. Leave me your comments and we'll talk about the week's happenings. Here is my recap of Friday's episode.

Things got crazy in court for the hearing to have Kate committed. Diane represented Connie/Kate much to the disgust of Alexis. After trying to make Sonny look like he was just seeking revenge for getting left at the altar, Diane revealed that Kate was actually the alter and Connie is the true personality. As Alexis pointed out, if that were true then Connie should be in jail for causing the deaths of Cole and Hope. Connie insisted she didn't shoot anyone's tires out as Johnny squirmed in his seat. The judge ruled that Connie is free but this story is not over. The police will be looking into this and Connie could be charged with a crime.

Meanwhile Michael decided that he wants to see his father and goes off to find AJ. AJ and Alice were moving an unconscious Tracy to the boathouse but AJ was able to cover. Michael told him that Carly told him the truth about what she did to him. He also told him that Carly knows he is alive. The two head up to the main house to talk where Carly is confronting Monica about AJ.

It was shades of the old Carly when she and Monica argued about Michael and the past. Monica continued to deny AJ is alive until he and Michael walked through the door.

Mac and Anna discuss her feelings for Duke and Luke. Mac asks her why Luke is suspicious and Anna admits that she is torn over who she should be with even though she feels that Duke is the real deal. She also admits that she feels she is missing something.

Robin is frantic to get word to Patrick and after her failed phone call she is strapped to a bed. Meanwhile Duke arrives in Switzerland for damage control. Duke bursts into Robin's room acting as if he too is being held prisoner. Robin has a tearful reunion with him feeling very hopeful that her childhood hero will save her. They reminisce and Robin realizes that this is not Duke after all!

As Robin confronts this mystery person, he removes his face mask and reveals himself to Robin.

Who is this and what is his motive?????????????????????

Secrets from the Past

Michael learns the truth from Carly and is disgusted by what she confesses.

Emma receives a phone call from Robin but Patrick doesn't believe her.

AJ tells Monica he won't give up hope that Michael will give him a chance.

Ellie and Maxie become roommates.

Starr considers moving in with Todd.

Carly calls Todd for support.

Michael goes to Starr after learning the truth about his mother's role in keeping him from AJ.

Tracy bursts into the room to find the shock of her life.

Coming: Michael considers giving AJ a second chance. Carly is horrified to find out that AJ is not dead. Todd is a friend to Carly. Patrick wonders who is playing tricks on Emma. Spinelli is disturbed by Ellie and Maxie's friendship. Lulu takes a step to become a parent. The hearing is held to try and commit Kate.

Ghostly Encounters

Due to Hurricane Sandy, GH was partially pre-empted in my area. I did manage to catch the second half though and here is my recap


Carly is frantic over her encounter with AJ and Sonny assures her that AJ is dead and she just imagined the conversation.

Sonny takes Carly to AJ's crypt and offers to open it to prove that AJ is really dead.

Anna and Duke share a dance and then a passionate kiss.

Starr comforts Michael over his shock in seeing AJ.

Luke tells Tracey that he is going to Turkey to expose Duke as a liar.

Monica feels Alan's presence as does Tracey.

AJ returns home and promises to stay put.

Entitlement

Thanks to Hurricane Sandy this faithful GH fan was held in limbo by Friday's return of AJ. Dying to know what was happening I had to wait for power to come back on. First thing I did was catch up on the 3 days I missed. Here is my recap




AJ comes after Monica's call. It seems that the fall did not kill AJ and in order to keep him safe and out of jail, Monica got Steve to lie about AJ's death and she has been helping to hide him out all this time.

Meanwhile, Sam continues to hope for Jason's return.

Connie tries to con Trey so that he will not have her committed but he is disgusted by her and goes to see Sonny. Trey tells Sonny that he will sign the papers to have Connie put away but he is doing it for Starr.

Lulu knows that Johnny is hiding something but he doesn't confess a thing to her.

Lulu and Dante talk adoption.

Luke goes to see Todd and tells him that he knows he was Heather's accomplice. He tells him that karma will get him.

Duke asks Anna questions about the shooting, trying to see how much she knows.

Todd arranges for Steve to find the paternity test which he does and then brings it to Sam.

Meanwhile, Olivia has a vision of Heather awakening.

Todd goes to see Heather who does awaken and threatens to reveal his part in the baby swap.

Carly goes to see Sam and tells her she doesn't believe Jason is gone but believes she should be there to help Sam.

Sam is overjoyed to hear the news of the paternity results and imagines Jason's reaction.

Heather tries to fake being her cousin Susan to avoid taking blame for her crimes.

Steve warns Todd that he knows he was involved with Heather and he will find out if she is faking a psychiatric illness.

Michael goes to see Monica who tries to tell him that his bio father wasn't so bad.

Michael becomes curious about AJ and discusses him with Starr.

Kristina and Starr bond over their mutual relationships with their dads.

Maxie tells Patrick that she has decided to move out.

Duke runs into Patrick and Emma.

Sam begins to feel the loss of Jason.

Coming this week: As people begin to put together the pieces of Todd's lies, will Carly finally realize his role in the baby swap?
